Investors accuse law enforcement officers of unwillingness to fight the OneCoin crypto pyramid

In Bulgaria, the prosecutor's office was accused of deliberate inaction in relation to the organizers of the OneCoin cryptocurrency project.

Jonathan Levy, legalA representative of investors affected by the cryptocurrency scheme sent a letter to the Deputy Minister of Justice of Bulgaria Yulia Kovacheva. The lawyer accuses local prosecutors of deliberately not taking any action against OneCoin co-founder Ruja Ignatova. Despite the presence of arrest warrants issued by Interpol, Europol and German law enforcement agencies.

Levy accuses prosecutor Geshev of inaction inregarding Ruzha’s mother, Veska Ignatova. According to the lawyer, Bulgarian prosecutors are “turning a blind eye” to the entire OneCoin mafia, a family allegedly continuing the case on behalf of the escaped co-founder. If the prosecutor's office takes the necessary measures, this will force the creators of Onecoin to stop operations, the lawyer is sure.

The investor representative suggests thatthe organizers of the criminal scheme may be under the protection of the chief prosecutor of Bulgaria, Ivan Geshev. While “due to the inaction of the prosecutor’s office, more and more people are becoming new victims of the OneCoin pyramid.” Levy appealed to the Bulgarian government with a request to initiate an investigation against prosecutor Ivan Geshev.

“The inaction of the prosecutor’s office allows the SofiaOneCoin office to continue operations in Europe, Latin America and Southeast Asia, receiving monthly payments in the cryptocurrencies BTC, ETH and USDT for millions of euros from new victims,” the lawyer’s letter says.

In May, Europol included Ruzha Ignatovaon the list of the most wanted citizens of the European Union, offering a reward of more than 5,000 euros for information about her. Ignatova has been hiding from law enforcement agencies since October 2017, but the police still continue to detain citizens promoting the OneCoin project. So, in 2020, a citizen of Singapore was taken into custody for this, and was also fined $72,000.
