The American company Metromile, which sells car insurance through a digital platform with paymentper mileage, invested $ 1 million in bitcoin.
</p>As reported in a filed with the Exchange Commission andUS Securities Commission (SEC) report, the company bought the main cryptocurrency during the first half of 2021. During this period, Metromile did not sell digital assets.
The company clarified that it uses a third-party service to store bitcoins.
In May, Metromile announced that it would addthe ability to pay for insurance and receive refunds in bitcoin. At the time, the company announced that it plans to acquire the first $ 10 million cryptocurrency to secure its solution.
Recall that the first public company to invest in bitcoin was MicroStrategy. The company now owns 105,085 BTC.
