Hyundai to launch ultra-fast charging stations for electric vehicles

Hyundai Motor Group announced the development of a new type of 800-volt electric vehicle charging stations that will recharge the battery up to 100 km in 5 minutes.

By the end of the year, the South Korean automakerplans to install 20 ultra-fast E-Pit stations with six connection points each. The company claims that each installation will allow electric vehicle owners to charge 80% of the battery in just 18 minutes, and five minutes will be enough to replenish the energy for 100 km.

To unlock the installation you will needpre-pay for electricity through a special application.

The E-Pit will be compatible with all new Hyundai and Kia electric vehicles. The first 20 stations will be installed in South Korea, the manufacturer has not yet announced deployment in other countries.
