Hackers stole $ 611 million as a result of hacking the Poly Network project

Criminals withdrew about $273 million in tokenson the Ethereum blockchain, $ 253 million in Binance Smart Chain coins and $ 85 million in Polygon network tokens.

The Poly Network protocol was hacked as a resultthe largest DeFi hacker attack to date. The cybercriminals managed to steal $ 611 million. The project team calls on miners and crypto exchanges to blacklist coins coming from the addresses of criminals. In total, $ 273 million in tokens on the Ethereum blockchain, $ 253 million on the Binance Smart Chain and $ 85 million in USDC stablecoin on the Polygon blockchain were stolen.

USDT stablecoin issuer Tether contributedblacklisted $ 33 million in USDT on the Ethereum blockchain that were stolen during the attack. This means that now these funds cannot be transferred. The developers said they are taking legal action and urged hackers to recover the stolen assets.

CEO of crypto exchange Binance Changpeng Zhaosaid he was "doing everything possible" to help the victims. As a result of the incident, the O3_Labs pool, which uses the Poly Network protocol to exchange tokens between different blockchains, was forced to suspend operations.
