Barcelona, one of the most famous football clubs in the world, has announced plans to issue its own token.The digital coin will be created in collaboration with the blockchain firm Chiliz.
The Chiliz CEO said:
Fan base “Barcelona” has more than 300million people. Without a doubt, this club is the most recognizable and most profitable. We look forward to the moment when fans begin to directly influence the decisions of the team.
The announcement of Chiliz indicates that fans will be able tointeract with the club using the Socios app. Users will be rewarded with points that can be exchanged for merchandise or for participation in team events. Holders of BAR tokens will be able to use chat, trade assets, play decentralized games.
40 will be sold in the second quarter of 2020million Barcelona tokens, their price will be €2 per coin. In order to purchase BAR, fans will first have to purchase the native Socios CHZ token.
