Fashion brand Prada will release 100 NFTs

Italian fashion house Prada is releasing a new line of clothing with serial numbers linked to non-fungible tokens.

The house announced that it will release a collection of100 NFTs. The new line of clothing is called Timecapsule - the consequences of Prada's collaboration with Cassius Hirst, son of artist Damien Hirst. Clothing buyers will receive a free NFT that will be sent to their wallet at the same time as their purchase.

Timecapsule is a project that Prada began in 2019, when the brand released limited edition products. According to the company, buyers of previous items in the line will also receive an NFT.

Non-fungible tokens areGIFs of black and white branded shirts. Each shirt will have a unique serial number associated with the token. This is not the Hearst family's first NFT launch. Last July, Damien Hirst launched the Currency collection, which released several NFTs worth 5.2 ETH.

Fashion house works with Aura companyBlockchain, which is a non-profit organization founded by Cartier, LVHM and Prada itself. The company uses the Quorum blockchain platform based on Ethereum. Aura offers its partners the use of blockchain for business purposes, as well as ConsenSys Rollups, a modular software solution for blockchain applications, focused on scalability.

Previously, the Prada house collaborated with the brandAdidas sportswear, releasing the Adidas for Prada Resource collection in January of this year on the Polygon blockchain. The total sales volume of the collection was 468 ETH. The latest collection of NFTs suggests that buyers will focus on physical items first, and NFTs are a free bonus to attract attention.

Let us remind you that in April, the fashion house Louis Vuitton presented its own NFT collection as part of the game Louis: The Game.
