Ex-Head of FinCEN Become Legal Advisor to Libra Association

The Libra Association has appointed Robert Werner, former director of the Anti-Corruption Network, as general counsel.financial crime (FinCEN).

Earlier, Werner also headed the Office forForeign Asset Control at the US Department of the Treasury (OFAC). He has experience in regulatory compliance in the public and private sectors. Werner also held senior positions at HSBC and Goldman Sachs.

Recall that at the beginning of this month, the head of the Libra Association was the former Deputy Secretary of the Treasury for Terrorism and Financial Security of the United States, Stuart Levy.

Recently, the Libra Association joined the largest investment company in Asia Temasek and two venture companies with a focus on the cryptocurrency space Slow Ventures and Paradigm.

Last month, the Association introduced an updated whitepaper. According to the document, instead of one digital currency, a set of stablecoins will be issued, backed by different fiat currencies.
