Ethereum Classic developers issue an urgent notice ahead of Agharta hard fork

In this regard, the leadership of the Ethereum organizationThe Classic Cooperative (ECC) issued an urgent notice requesting operators to update nodes in order to be in consensus with the rest of the ETC network.

"This is not a controversial hard fork.There is not a single group in the ETC ecosystem that would be against these changes."New coins" will not be created.- emphasized in the notification.

ECC recommended that node owners install the latest version of the Hyperledger Besu client. Parity-Ethereum 2.5.13 and Multi-Geth 1.9.7 clients are also supported.

Recall, hard fork includes functionalityupgrade Constantinople and aims at the compatibility of Ethereum Classic with the Ethereum blockchain. However, the developers do not plan to switch from the Proof-of-Work consensus mechanism to the Proof-of-Stake.

The activation of the Agharta hard fork in the Kotti test network took place on December 14 at block 1,705,549. In November, the update was successfully activated in the Morden and Mordor test networks.
