Coinbase sees the deal as a boost toadopting Web3 and attracting more crypto enthusiasts for the 10 million BRD users currently in use.
Coinbase plans to leverage a "unique experienceBRD and bring together the BRD and Coinbase Wallet development teams. There are no plans to change the BRD application at this stage. The additional Coinbase Wallet toolkit will be joining BRD shortly. Coinbase expects to add new functionality as early as 2022
Financial details of the acquisition have not yet been disclosed. Against the background of the news, the rate of the BRD coin with a capitalization of 14 million soared by 543%.
BRD was one of the first wallets toprovided the ability to store, send and receive Bitcoin in 2014. In recent years, the wallet has expanded the list of supported crypto-assets and operations with them.
