CME Bitcoin Options Trading Volume Doubles in First Week

CME options trading volumes doubled in first week of operation, according to official data.platforms.

As of February 17, 122 contracts for 610 BTC ($ 5.27 million) were sold per day. For comparison, on the first day of trading, the company sold 55 contracts or 275 BTC ($ 2.37 million).

Recall that trading in bitcoin options waslaunched on the CME exchange on January 13. On the first day of operation, CME exceeded trading volumes on the Bakkt platform, which began selling contracts on BTC on December 9 last year.

According to the management of CME, the service for selling Bitcoin options turned out to be “extremely successful”, which can serve as an indicator of the increased interest of institutional investors.
