China will launch a national blockchain platform on April 25

China State Information Center announced the launch of an infrastructure blockchain platform on April 25(BSN), which will simplify the creation and launch of DLT applications.

The initiative, led by a Chinese government agency, aims to make it faster and cheaper to launch DLT applications in the real sector.

“Today the main obstacle to developmentBlockchain technology is associated with the high cost of launching, managing and maintaining DLT applications. Therefore, it is urgent to create a public infrastructure network,” — states the latest white paper from the BSN Development Association.

According to the Association currently forIn order to launch a fully functional network on the blockchain, it is necessary to spend about 100,000 yuan ($ 14,000). In turn, BSN promises to reduce this cost to 2,000-3,000 yuan ($ 280- $ 425) per year.

“Such an approach will stimulate enormousnumber of small, medium and micro enterprises, as well as individuals, use the BSN platform to innovate, thereby accelerating the development and widespread use of blockchain technology,” — stated in the association.

The Blockchain Services Network (BSN) alliance waslaunched by the State Information Center (SIC) in October 2019, whose founding members are the State Information Center, as well as five companies representing the telecommunications, financial and technology industries.

The association says that in China, with the supportthree telecom operators - China Mobile, China Telecom and China Unicom - have already created almost 100 public metro nodes. In the future, their number is planned to be increased to 200. To achieve this, the association is negotiating with global telecom operators, cloud service providers and other companies in the blockchain industry.
