Boeing began producing combat drones for Australia

Aircraft company Boeing introduced a prototype military drone Loyal Wingman. This is the first aircraft in the past 50 years to be designed and manufactured in Australia.

Joint project of Boeing and RoyalThe Australian Air Force is equipped with an artificial intelligence system that significantly expands the range of its capabilities. Its length is 11.6 m and a maximum flight range of 3700 km.

The production of one Loyal Wingman cost the Australian government $40 million. The first batch includes three drones, butmid-decade, Boeing plans to establish full-fledged serial production.

Currently, the prototype is undergoing ground tests, and the first flight should take place only by the end of 2020.

According to the Royal Air Force, Loyal Wingman will become the backbone of the new Aviation Combining System, joining a fleet of manned aircraft to assist with various missions.
