Bitfinex requested a month to transfer documents to the prosecutor's office

The Bitfinex cryptocurrency exchange has requested additional time to transfer documents on mutual transactions withthe issuer of the stablecoin Tether at the New York State Attorney General's Office (NYAG), lawyer Stuart Hogner, representing the companies, said.

Earlier, the prosecutor's office asked to extend until January 15deadline for Bitfinex and Tether solution. On January 19, Hogner notified the New York Supreme Court that the defendants had collected a significant amount of information, but they needed a month to complete the process.

In April 2019, NYAG accused Bitfinex of trying to hide the loss of $ 850 million from Tether's reserves. The exchange did not agree with the claims.

In September 2020, the court ordered Bitfinex and Tether to submit financial statements to the prosecutor's office and extended the ban on transferring funds.
