The Ghanaian West African nation will soon acquire its own digital currency.
Ernest Addison, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, spoke about this intime of the annual banking conference on tuesday. He stated that the central bank is discussing with “key stakeholders” the issue of researching a pilot project in the field of digital currency “with the possibility of issuing an electronic Sadie in the near future”.

According to Addison:
The digital era offers tremendous potential for the financial sector to reorient consumers to new needs.
Africa has been growing latelyinterest in cryptocurrencies. Just last month, Paxful announced the opening of 800,000 wallets, due to growth in African countries - Nigeria, Ghana and Kenya.
So, today in Africa there are at least 64 companies developing in the field of blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
