Regulated crypto platform Bakkt has begun testing its consumer payment app.which will provide users with the ability to pay for services with digital assets. Bakkt announced this in an announcement sent to the members of the mailing list.
Full launch of the application is expected in the first half of 2020.
The first Bakkt partner to join the app will be Starbucks, an international coffee shop chain.
Additional functions of the application have not yet been disclosed, but, according to available information, the application will provide access to «an expanded set of digital assets, including cryptocurrencies».
Meanwhile, amid falling bitcoin prices on November 8, Bakkt announced that it reached the maximum futures turnover with monthly settlements of $ 15.6 million.
At the beginning of the week, the crypto platform announced plans to expand its offer by settlement futures for bitcoin by the end of the year.
