21% of Muscovites believe that in 10 years cryptocurrency will replace fiat

8% of residents of the North-West believe that in 10 years cryptocurrencies will displace traditional ones from financial circulationmoney.This is the lowest figure in the country — In general, in Russia the share of those who believe that digital currencies will replace traditional ones is — is 14%. These are the results of a survey* conducted by Otkritie Bank.

At the same time, like the national average, 34% of residentsThe Northwestern Federal District believe that cryptocurrencies will not be able to replace traditional currencies in anything, and half of the respondents admit that some of the operations will still be carried out using new, exclusively digital, monetary units.

The fewest in the North-West are those who believe incomplete disappearance of cash within a decade. Their share is only 15%, while in the country as a whole — 20%, and in Moscow and the Moscow region — 21%. At the same time, 46% of surveyed residents of the region believe that people should have the opportunity to choose in any case, so there is no need to abolish cash. And 39% are convinced that it is impossible to refuse cash, since not all over the world will be able to do without it.

68% of residents of the North-West believe that in 10years, most banks will continue to provide classic financial services. And only 32% of respondents believe that by 2030 banks will turn into universal ecosystems with a set of financial and non-financial services. For comparison, in Moscow and the Moscow region, 38% of respondents expect banks to turn into ecosystems, and in the North Caucasus — 25%.

* The survey was conducted on April 12-16 on a representative sample of 1000 Russians aged 18-65 in cities with a population of over 100 thousand people.
