New jet engine will fly 16 times faster than the speed of sound

Chinese researchers are testing a new type of direct-jet engine that will allowplane to reach anywhere in the world in just 2 hours.

According to scientists, the development will theoretically be ableaccelerate 16 times faster than the speed of sound. The existing prototype is currently being tested in a hypersonic wind tunnel at Mach 9, since the only one suitable with a simulated Mach 16 is still under construction. During tests, it demonstrated high levels of traction, fuel efficiency and stabilityFunctioning.
