The film "Silk Road" was produced by Lionsgate and will soon be released in the United States. The picture tells about the founderSilk Road trading platform Ross Ulbricht and the events leading to his arrest.
The U.S.-Canadian entertainment company plans to release the film on February 19 in U.S. theaters.Starting February 23 next year, it will be available on Blu-ray and DVD.
Silk Roads is based on an article by David Kushner, "Dead End on the Silk Roads," published in Rolling Stone magazine. Director Tiller Russell describes the film's plot as:
Twenty-year-old Ross Ulbricht creates Silk Road – a dark web site selling drugs, and undercover DEA agent Rick Bowden trying to take it down.
Nick Robinson, who starred in WorldJurassic ", plays Ulbricht in" Silk Road ". Jason Clarke, who played John Connor in Terminator Genisys, plays a DEA agent. Famed for her role as the superhero Storm in the X-Men films, Alexandra Shipp also stars alongside Jimmy Simpson, Katie Aselton, Lexie Rabe, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Daniel Stewart and Paul Walter Hauser.
Filming for Silk Road began in June last year and its world premiere was scheduled for April at the Tribeca Film Festival, but the festival was postponed due to the covid-19 pandemic.
"Silk Road" – not the first filmLionsgate, associated with cryptocurrencies. Last April, the company released the film Krypto, starring Beau Knapp, Alexis Bledel, Luke Hemsworth and Kurt Russell.
