Yuga Labs co-founder warns users of impending hacker attack

One of the creators of the NFT project Yuga Labs under the pseudonym GordonGoner said that criminals cancarry out an organized hacking of the accounts of the project's users in social networks.

a warning to non-fungible token collectors on Twitter, citing a whistleblower.Shortly after the warning, Twitter's technical support team began monitoring suspicious activity on user accounts.GordonGoner, just in case, warned investors that the company is not going to suddenly release NFTs.

This popular method is often used by cybercriminals to lure victims to fake auctions.Announcing on behalf of companies about the unexpected minting of collectible tokens, they inviteusers to a phishing site, and thus obtain data about the user to hack their wallet.

The popularity of NFTs from Yuga Labs has led to growthfraud. On June 5, attackers managed to infiltrate the Yuga Labs BAYC and OtherSide Discord groups and steal more than 200 ethers. An investigation by blockchain security expert OKHotshot revealed that the attack was carried out through the hacking of the Discord account of Yuga Labs PR and social media manager Boris Vagner.

Recently, a solution for scaling the secondOptimism level lost 20 ​​million OP tokens after falling victim to an exploit in the market maker’s smart contract. From the project pool, 1 million tokens worth about $1.3 million were sold, and 1 million tokens worth about $730,000 were sold to the personal address of Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin. The remaining 18 million tokens remain dormant and can be sold or used to manage the project.
