XRP continues to rise, Ripple issues a billion tokens from escrow wallets

In a couple of days, the price of XRP managed to grow more than 2 times - from $0.32 to $0.70.

Against the backdrop of a soaring price, RippleMajor exchanges – Coinbase and Bitstamp – transferred 645 million XRP.

Typically, about 80% of the coins issued are locked back, and 20% gofor Ripple's operating expenses.At the moment, Ripple's expenses are more than usual due to the lawsuit with the SEC. 

BitStamp and Coinbase Transfer 645 Million XRP

According to WhaleAlert, the two exchanges made multiple transfers totaling 645 million XRP.

Bitstamp has sent about 40 million XRP to BitGo custody, and Coinbase has withdrawn 400 million XRP from a cold storage wallet to an online wallet.

At the time of writing, XRP is trading above $0.65, with a high set near $0.75. 

The coin managed to surpass Polkadot and Tether in terms of capitalization and regain the third place in the rating.
