WhatsApp Launches Built-in Stablecoin Payments

WhatsApp has launched a pilot that allows a "limited circle of people" in the U.S. to send and receivestablecoins right in the correspondence window.

The new functionality is provided by the Novi wallet, which was launched in test mode six weeks ago.Payments will be made in Pax Dollar (USDP), a stablecoin fromPaxos, which is pegged to the dollar.

According to the statement, sending a payment works like thisthe same as sending any application (photo, gif, video) in WhatsApp correspondence. You just need to click on the attachment icon at the bottom of the chat and select “payments” in the pop-up window.

Novi representatives note that transactions within the application are free, there is no limit on their number and volume, and there are no commissions for withdrawing funds.
