Blockchain monitoring and analysis provider Whale Alert tries out a new tracking toolblockchain crimes – Scam Alert. The results of two weeks of monitoring prove that crypto fraud is becoming more widespread, successful and aggressive.

The cybercrime report notes thatOver the last four years, about $38 million in Bitcoin has been stolen, and in the first six months of 2020 – $24 million. This figure does not take into account Ponzi schemes – a separate sector worth a billion dollars.

Some of the most successful fraudulent projects have earned more than $ 130,000 in one day using a one-page website, bitcoin wallet, or YouTube advertising campaign.

Tracking has highlighted several of the most successful operations, including a celebrity giveaway that can bring scammers up to $ 300,000.

There are dozens of different types of fraud,such as giveaways, fake exchanges, fake ICOs, video fraud, Ponzi schemes, malware, fake toggle switches and the list goes on, with virtually no risk to criminals.

The report notes:

“The scam market is characterized by highprofit, minimal effort and zero risk, and we expect that by the end of 2020 it will grow more than twenty times from 2017 to an annual revenue of at least $ 50 million. ”
