Vitalik Buterin calls BitTorrent “zombies” under Justin Sun’s dictatorship

After another accusation of plagiarism against the Tron ecosystem, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin said that BitTorrentturned into an «appendage of the dictatorship of Sana».

Recently rebranded decentralizedfile system BitTorrent File System (BTFS) outraged the creator of the «Interplanetary File System» (IPFS) Juan Benet. He pointed out the clear similarity between the BTFS and IPFS logos and recalled that this is not the first case of plagiarism on the part of Tron.

«It's not enough for them to duplicate all our code,rename and distort it, copy random pieces of our documentation and deceive investors with this nonsense. Tron also can't come up with an original logo»,Benet wrote.

He added that his generation admired BitTorrent and its technology, but now it is a «great name» disgraceful.

The BitTorrent team responded to Benet, recalling their leadership in the industry and calling for unity:

«It's not cool to blame BitTorrent, which has been improving our technology for decades. IPFS should be grateful to the company as a leader in this industry, which paved the way for others.

Tron founder Justin Sun, who acquiredBitTorrent in 2018 also participated in the discussion. He noted that IPFS hardly owns the rights to represent the hexagon and criticized the project.

«It’s a shame that IPFS has not been implemented in 3 yearsintroduced the tokenized file system Filecoin, and BTFS with BTT works without problems. You are a ghost product, long in the concept stage, who is deceiving your investors»,- San stated.

On the side of the creator of IPFS was Vitalik Buterin, who commented on BitTorrent's answer to Benet:

«This tweet is frankly painful to read. It's like looking at a zombie: the account looks like something you grew up with, knew and loved for 15 years, but underneath it's just another appendage of San's dictatorship.
