Visa Survey Shows Interest Of Latinos In Cryptocurrency Payments

Residents of South America view cryptocurrencies not only as a tool for protecting against inflation and savingsavings. Latin Americans want to be able to spend their digital coins in everyday life.

A survey of the Visa payment system showed that 25%All credit cardholders in South America would like their banks to add cryptocurrency settlement. One in four Hispanics expressed a desire to experiment with digital assets and try them out in everyday life. Visa is actively interested in changing the views of bank card holders due to the coronavirus pandemic. 78% of users of the system want to use new payment technologies in the future, including operations with cryptocurrency.

The main trend among Visa cardholdersis the ability to calculate in social networks. About 58% of users of the payment system expressed a desire to make payments via WeChat Pay or WhatsApp Pay. Another 42% of respondents expect the introduction of biometric payments, for confirmation of which a fingerprint, recognition of the retina of an eye or a face is required. Cryptocurrencies ranked third in interest among Visa customers, ahead of industries such as the Internet of Things (22%) and augmented reality (10%).
