US accuses Maduro of drug trafficking

The US charges President Nicolas Maduro and 14 Venezuelan officials, including the superintendentVenezuelan cryptocurrencies, in drug terrorism, corruption and drug trafficking.

The U.S. Department of State officially announced:

We offer rewards of up to $ 15million for information that would lead to the arrest or conviction of Nicolas Maduro, up to $ 10 million for information that would lead to the arrest or conviction of Cabello Rondon, Carvajal Barrios and Alcalá Cordones, and up to $ 5 million for information that would lead to the arrest or conviction of Marun Arango.

US accuses Maduro of drug trafficking

The official prosecution claims that JoselitRamirez Camacho – curator of the country's cryptocurrency developments – responsible for conducting many transactions related to drug trafficking. Ramirez was appointed Cryptocurrency Manager on June 20, 2018, replacing Carlos Vargas, who was Sunacrip's first superintendent in Venezuela.

US Department of Justice Believes Senior LeadersThe Venezuelan government uses cryptocurrencies to conduct illegal drug trafficking, money laundering and terrorism-related activities.

It is unclear whether the agency is referring to cryptocurrency inin general or the national cryptocurrency Petro, which is controlled directly by Sunacrip– an organization created by the government to regulate digital currency.
