The head of Apple announced investments in cryptocurrency

Tim Cook noted that it is prudent to own Bitcoin and Ethereum to diversify investments.


General Apple CEO Tim Cook at the DealBook conferencesaid he owns the cryptocurrency, CNBC reports. It makes sense to have investments in Bitcoin and Ethereum to diversify your investment portfolio, Cook said. Cook did not specify the volume of investments and what specific assets the money was invested in.

Also, the head of Apple said that for a whilewas interested in the topic of cryptocurrencies and studied the digital assets industry. Cook noted that this is his personal position, and Apple has no plans to use cryptocurrencies.

According to him, in the near future, Apple will notplans to launch services related to digital assets or integrate them as a possible option for paying for its goods and services. He also stressed that the corporation is not going to invest in these financial instruments.

“I don't think people buy Apple stock to gain access to cryptocurrency,” Cook said.

The Apple chief noted that “there are other thingswhich [Apple] is definitely considering. " What these words may mean is still unknown. However, in May, the corporation opened a vacancy for a business development manager with five years of experience in the cryptocurrency industry, who will lead the affiliate program in the segment of "alternative payments".
