Solana's network is greener than Google

As world leaders discuss options to reduce carbon emissions, Solana has outlined a feasible planachieving ecosystem carbon neutrality. The Solana Foundation plans to launch a program that will support the creation of a network of green validators.

The platform promises to systematically report to the community on the energy efficiency and sustainability of the project.

According to a study carried out by experts,Solana has proven to be more environmentally friendly than the popular Google browser. The cost of one transaction on the blockchain is only 0.00051 kWh or 1836 joules, which is less than the energy consumption of two Google searches, charging a mobile phone, or the energy consumption of an LED lamp per hour.

While the high energy consumption and carbon footprint of the cryptoindustry is heavily criticized, Solana is showing a whole new trend in the green crypto space.
