Salvadorans report problems withdrawing bitcoins from Chivo wallet

After the fall of the cryptocurrency market, several users of the Salvadoran state wallet Chivo faced the inability to withdraw their funds.

This is reported by Blockworks with reference to Chivo users who wished to remain anonymous.According to them, previously there were no problems when withdrawing bitcoins from a state wallet, but now an error message appears when trying to withdraw funds to a cold wallet.

"Chivo is absolutely unreliable.Every day we hear more and more stories of fraud and theft from the public purse. My account was hacked about a month ago and now I can't even log in to check if my funds are still there," said Andres Pineda, treasurer at Banco Cuscatlan.

Other users complain about the Chivo wallet on the social network Twitter. For example, one of the users tried to transfer bitcoins to the Binance exchange, but was unable to do so.

Recall that in December last year, residents of the country complained about the loss of funds stored in Chivo wallets. In April, it was reported that only 20% of commercial companies in El Salvador began accepting bitcoins to pay for their goods and services.
