Norilsk Nickel issued first tokens

Norilsk Nickel's palladium fund Global Palladium Fund presented digital assets. They will be used for translationparts of contracts with major industrial partners in digital format.

Palladium Fund Global Palladium Fund,founded by Norilsk Nickel, issued the first tokens. With their help, part of the contracts with major industrial partners - Traxys SA and Umicore SA - will be digitized. This will be done to ensure efficiency and transparency throughout the supply chain, the company said in a press release.

Tokens were issued digitalAtomyze blockchain platform created with the support of international investors. Its test launch took place last February in the Swiss city of Zug, a center for blockchain innovation. Then, Norilsk Nickel announced that it would become the first company to issue metal-backed digital tokens on this site.

Atomyze received approvals on February 17from the Department of Financial Technologies of the Central Bank. But the department stressed that the site will be able to function only after the adoption of the law on digital financial assets. This document comes into force on January 1, 2021, in July it was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Also in July, the head of the State Duma Committee on the financial marketAnatoly Aksakov said that large Russian companies that are involved in the extraction of raw materials and the supply of metals are planning to start producing stablecoins. According to him, the tokens will be presented in the first half of 2021.
