Mining pool BTC.com blocked users from Russia

The BTC.com mining pool has suspended the registration of new users from Russia since March 5, 2022, as well asrestricted access to the service for persons from this region.

When trying to connect to the pool from a Russian IP address, BTC.com issues the following notification:

“Your region does not support the BTC.com service.If you are located or your company was established/registered in mainland China or Russia, or if you are a citizen/resident of these countries, you are prohibited from accessing our services.”

Users with other IP addresses are asked to confirm that they are not citizens of the sanctioned countries, which include Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria and Russia.

BTC.com is a fairly large Bitcoin pool. In the context of the last three months, it accounts for 6.5% of the total hashrate of the first cryptocurrency.
