Mercedes-Benz presented a prototype of a futuristic electric vehicle VISION AVTR

Mercedes-Benz has published a video with a review of the prototype of the VISION AVTR electric car, the development of which was inspired by the sci-fi film Avatar.

According to the German manufacturer, instead of the usual steering wheel, the futuristic concept car hasOn the center console, there is a multi-function control that responds to hand movements, almost like a joystick. The interior of the car is also equipped with a number of other sensors and an artificial intelligence system that optimizesoperation of the equipment, determine the owner of the softwarebreathing and heartbeat  and allow the driver to interact with the vehicle through a visual projection on the arm.

VISION AVTR has four high performanceelectric motor, located next to the wheels, with a combined power of more than 350 kW. The innovative all-wheel drive with torque vectoring allows the torque distribution to be adjusted according to the driving situation, while ensuring maximum active safety. With the ability to steer the front and rear axles simultaneously or in opposite directions, the vehicle can move sideways at an angle of 30 degrees.

The developers claim that the batterywith a power of 110 kW·h provide a range of more than 700 km, replenishing the charge through an energy recovery system and 33 movable solar panels located on the rear of the roof. From the mains, the battery can be fully charged in just 15 minutes thanks to new technology based on graphene and organic chemistry.

The automotive industry is undergoing dramatic changes, so vehicles will change more in the next decade than in the entire past century.
