Korea's largest internet company wants to buy a stake in Bithumb

Naver plans to acquire stakes in South Korea's largest exchange.

South Korea's largest internet company has begun negotiations to acquire shares in the exchange Bithumb with Vidente.

Naver– is the developer of a popular game in Koreasearch engine and messenger Line. According to Maeil Business, the company also plans to add Bitcoin support to its payment app Naver Pay (Line Pay for Japan and the US). 

About 10 firms want to buy a stake in Bithumb, including the largest US investment bank Morgan Stanley. 

The Korea Times reports that Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan and Visa are also considering investing in the exchange.
