This week, the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Washington indicted Singaporean citizen Ho Jun Jiafor the theft of computing power for cryptocurrency mining.
According to the US Attorney's Office, between OctoberFrom 2017 to February 2018, Ho ran a “large-scale mining operation” that he financed using stolen identities and credit card information. Thus, he rented cloud capacity from providers while posing as someone else.
