To carry out a hard fork, it is necessary that 75%blocks were created by nodes with updated software. It is also necessary for the 25 cryptocurrency exchanges that provide about 80% of ADA liquidity to update their systems.

The developers expect the top 10decentralized applications on the Cardano network will report their readiness for a hard fork. Already, most of the largest cryptocurrency exchanges are preparing for the update. IOHK representatives noted:

“Thanks to the unique system of hard forks inOn the Cardano network, we expect a smooth transition to Vasil - without disruption to users or interruption in block production. Users will not be required to take any action."

It was initially assumed that the Vasil update on the Cardano network would take place at the end of July, but the developers postponed the hard fork. At the same time, Vasil was launched on the test network in early July.
