Innopolis University, Aeroflot and BitFury will create a blockchain platform for 600 million rubles

Russian Innopolis University, Aeroflot airline and BitFury will create a blockchain platform worth 600million rubles, according to a press release.

They plan to use the development in healthcare, transport, financial services, industry, energy, education, agriculture and urban enterprises.
It is expected that by 2021 the technology will work in 6 sectors of the Russian digital economy, and by 2022 - in 8.

“A new system-based verification methoda distributed registry will protect data and increase its reliability - medical information about patients in healthcare, diplomas and certificates in the field of education, accounting and labeling of manufactured products in industry and agriculture. New investment formats will appear in fintech and financial organizations will be able to offer customers new services based on the blockchain ”- said the director of Innopolis University, Kirill Semenikhin.

As part of the project, its participants plan to train40 people on higher education programs in the field of blockchain, register 6 patents and develop 12 mathematical models of products and processes.

For Aeroflot, Innopolis University specialists will develop a blockchain solution with full formal verification of smart contracts and integrate it with one of the airline’s pilot projects.

In Tatarstan, plans a blockchain platformuse the Ministry of Health to store medical data. Oil and gas companies are interested in a project for the control and accounting of products and production.

The total amount of financing for the project is 600 million rubles, of which 300 million are grant funds from the Digital Economy national project, and 300 million are private co-financing.
