In Russia, investment in cryptocurrency will be limited to 600,000 rubles.

The Bank of Russia this week published a draft directive that talks about establishing a maximumlimit on investments in digital currencies.

The regulator wants to allow Russians to buytokens and other digital assets in the amount of no more than 600,000 rubles per year. The document specifies that the limit should be set for unqualified investors.

As RBC agency clarifies, referring to thisdraft resolution, the Central Bank proposes to allow non-professional market participants to acquire digital assets that make it possible to participate in the capital of companies and put forward monetary claims.

As for qualified investors, thenthe regulator wants to allow them to buy tokens on cryptocurrency platforms operating in foreign jurisdictions. This regulation should come into force from January 2021. The Central Bank is ready to accept comments and suggestions to this document until October 27.

Note that Anatoly Aksakov, head of the State Duma's financial committee, suggested setting a limit of 600,000 rubles for investments in cryptocurrency.

The law on regulating relations in the cryptocurrency industry will come into force in our country also in January next year. This document was signed by the President of the Russian Federation in the summer.
