Huobi Group Receives Permit to Operate in Dubai and New Zealand

Huobi Group has received a license forconducting activities from the Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), and also registered in the New Zealand Financial Services Providers Register (FSPR).

The owners of the crypto exchange called both eventsimportant stages in the development of the group as an international provider of cryptocurrency services. The DIFC Innovation License is issued to technology companies, giving them access to Dubai's technology infrastructure. Companies have the opportunity to develop their business in accordance with international standards for the protection of intellectual property rights.

Registration with FSPR is alsoAn important step for Huobi to expand its cryptocurrency business in New Zealand. Before offering services to local traders, trading platforms are required to register. Now the exchange will be able to legally provide local residents with services for the sale, transfer and exchange of digital assets.

"Huobi attaches great importance to compliancerequirements of regulators around the world. Receiving two new licenses not only marks an important milestone in our international expansion, but also proves our determination to provide users with secure and regulated services,” said Huobi Group CFO Lily Zhang.

Last year the Japanese divisionHuobi has received approval from the Financial Services Agency (FSA) of Japan to trade and manage cryptocurrency derivatives. In the fall, the exchange received a license  Gibraltar Financial Services Commission (FSC) for spot trading and other cryptocurrency transactions.

However, more recently, the Ministry of FinanceThailand revoked Huobi's license to operate the site in the country, citing numerous violations and failure to comply with the requirements of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) of Thailand.
