Mining company Greenidge Generation announced plans to build a data center in South Carolina (USA)for mining cryptocurrencies. Investments in the project will amount to $264 million.
The facility, located in Spartanburg County, is expected to create 40 new jobs. Its power consumption after completion of construction will reach at least 100 MW.
The launch of the first phase of the project is expected in the second half of 2022. Further expansion will continue until 2025.
