Goldman Sachs will launch a custodian service for digital assets

The American investment bank Goldman Sachs sent a request for information (RFI) on the issuesstorage of digital assets. A Coindesk source at Goldman Sachs said the bank's digital asset custody plans "will soon become apparent."

Goldman Sachs' request to hold digital assets was sent to at least one well-known crypto custodian service at the end of 2020.

“Like JPMorgan, we sent an RFI on digital custodian issues. We study digital storage extensively and decide what to do next. "A source at Goldman said.

According to The Block, an RFI on the custody of cryptocurrencies was issued by JPMorgan in October 2020.

A Goldman source said the bank's initiativedigital asset space is "part of a broader digital strategy," citing a recent letter from the U.S. Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC). In a letter dated January 4, the regulator said that banks can run nodes and use stablecoins for “permissible payment transactions.”
