Fraudsters started giving away fake LUNA 2.0 tokens on May 26

Blockchain security and data analytics company PeckShield has identified scammers sending “Wrapped LUNA” tokens2.0" to top Ethereum addresses. They mimic the re-release of LUNA, which will take place on Friday, May 27th.

According to PeckShield's warning, Vitalik Buterin, Andreesen Horowitz, Three Arrows Capital and Justin Sun became several recipients of the new tokens.

On Thursday, May 26, the tokens were sent to the Terra Deployer wallet from an anonymous address, then they went to well-known members of the crypto community to create the illusion of an official distribution of Terra.

Terra's actual plan includes a forkthe Terra blockchain and the release of a completely new LUNA token. The old LUNA, which depreciated to zero after UST lost its dollar peg earlier this month, will be renamed LUNC.

The new LUNA will be distributed among LUNC and UST holders based on a network image. Users whose assets are stored on the address of the Binance or Huobi crypto exchange will also receive compensation.

Neither Terraform Labs nor LUNA Foundation Guard are whitelisted.
