El Salvador began using geothermal energy to power a government mining farm.

President Nayiba Bukele said that the countrybegan installing and configuring specialized equipment. It is the first farm to be powered entirely by geothermal energy generated by the region's volcanoes. So far, the enterprise is at the launch stage and was able to replenish the treasury with only 0.0059 BTC for approximately $260.

Nayiba Bukele also posted a video on Twitter showing the process of supplying and connecting ASICs.

Governmentdecided to use geothermal energy because the country relies heavily on it and is one of the largest producers of it in the world.

The authorities began to actively developcrypto industry after El Salvador legislated last month to recognize Bitcoin as a legal means of payment. The government has already deployed a network of cryptocurrency ATMs and launched its own wallet application.
