David Rubinstein spoke about investing in cryptocurrency companies

American businessman, co-founder of the Carlyle Group and former cryptocurrency skeptic David Rubinstein said that he has recently invested in several cryptocurrency firms.

During an interview on Squawk BoxCNBC channel David Rubenstein noted that he is positive about the prospects for regulating the industry in the United States. According to him, high-quality regulation should encourage the development of cryptocurrency firms, and digital assets will gain a foothold in the market for a long time.

"Some investments related toblockchain, and companies working with cryptocurrencies are here to stay. Youth now have both the intelligence and energy to start new trends,” he said.

Rubinstein did not say exactly whichhe invested in cryptocurrency firms. But, for example, in 2020, Rubinstein's investment advisor, Declaration Partners, became the leader in a Series C funding round for infrastructure solutions provider Paxos.

Previously, the investor said that cryptocurrencylooks like a genie out of a bottle. He emphasized that against the backdrop of the growth of the crypto industry and political tensions, the volume of investments in digital currencies will increase.
