Chainlink protocol developers refuse to support Ethereum forks

Ethereum is preparing for the transition to PoS, and the community expects forks of the second cryptocurrency based on the old PoW algorithm to appear. However, Chainlink developers have no plans to support them.

Developers of a network of decentralized oraclesChainlink emphasized that the oracles will work both during Ethereum’s transition to the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) algorithm and after that. However, they warned that forks of the second cryptocurrency, including Proof-of-Work (PoW), are not planned to be supported.

“This decision is consistent with the decisions of the Ethereum Foundation and the general view of the Ethereum community,” Chainlink said on its website.

The developers also advised the creatorsdecentralized applications to disable functionality during the merger to “avoid unexpected incidents and protect end users.” In addition, developers need to ensure that dependencies on external projects and applications will work after Ethereum switches to PoS.

Let us recall that earlier, a large Chinese ether miner, Chandler Guo, announced the creation of a new minority ETHPoW network for miners who want to “escape” Ethereum 2.0.
