Chainalysis launched a hotline for victims of cryptocurrency crimes

Analytics company Chainalysis has launched a 24/7 hotline to support organizationsaffected by ransomware and cryptocurrency-related cyberattacks.

Chainalysis experts will track and tag funds in transit. They will also help connect victims with law enforcement to recover stolen assets.

The hotline service is separate from Chainalysis' analytics products - victims do not have to be active clients at the time of the attack.

The company expects the initiative to make it harder for criminals to cash out stolen cryptocurrencies and make it easier to catch them.

In general, analysts see the continued rise in the number of cyberattacks as an obstacle to building trust in cryptocurrencies.

Let us remind you that according to Chainalysis, in 2021, attackers targeting the cryptocurrency industry stole a record $14 billion.
