CEO Wirecard leaves post after scandal

Markus Braun, CEO of Wirecard, left his post after it was discovered that the accountsthe company is two billion dollars short.

According to the company, the resignation of Brown occurred by mutual agreement with the supervisory board. James Freis was appointed as interim CEO of the company.

Brown resigned a day after auditors discovered a $2 billion shortfall in the company's trust accounts. At that time, the company's shares fell by 50% to ~50 euros per share. 

After Braun's departure, Wirecard shares dropped by another 50% and are trading at ~25 euros.
