The Chairman of the Central Bank added that at the moment there are discussions regarding the issue of a new currency, as technological risks may arise and it is necessary to understand that "people and business will benefit from this."

Earlier, the head of Goznak, Arkady Trachuk, said thatthe digital ruble can become an alternative to cash. Trachuk argues that this is possible if the new currency fulfills the functions inherent in traditional, paper means, such as storage and settlement.
