CEO of the Gemini cryptocurrency exchange Cameron Winklevoss is confident that the pandemiccoronavirus will be a turning point for bitcoin.

COVID-19 pandemic paralyzes global economy- More than three billion people are now in quarantine or self-isolation. However, the general manager of the Gemini exchange believes that this crisis may contribute to the popularization of bitcoin and its development.

“This pandemic will be a turning point for bitcoin and the metaverse,” he wrote on the social network Twitter.

Cameron Winklevoss is not the first cryptocurrencyan expert who argues that a coronavirus pandemic that triggered a crisis in the healthcare industry and then triggered a new economic crisis could play into the hands of bitcoin.

So, at the end of March, the CEO of GalaxyDigital Mike Novogratz said that since the emergence of bitcoin was caused by the financial crisis, 2020 will be the year of bitcoin due to new financial turmoil.

A similar opinion is shared by Tim Draper(Tim Draper), who believes that although the coronavirus pandemic has greatly affected traditional financial markets, innovative technologies like Bitcoin could benefit from this situation.
