Cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp received approval from the Italian regulator OAM to provide services to residentscountries. CoinDesk writes about it.
“Italy is one of the most important markets in Europe and we are pleased to provide its citizens with a safe and secure way to trade cryptocurrencies,” said CEO Jean-Baptiste Graftier.
According to him, the license of the local regulator is part of the exchange's global plans "to provide services throughout Europe and the world."
According to OAM, Bitstamp is included in the register of service providers in the digital asset market. The Italian office of the platform is located in Milan.

In July, OAM issued a license to operate in Italy to the cryptocurrency platform Crypto.com.
Previously, the Coinbase and Binance exchanges received regulatory approval.
As a reminder, Bitstamp announced the introduction of a monthly fee of €10 for inactive customers. However, after criticism from the community, the company abandoned the move.
