Banking giant BBVA launches bitcoin trading and custody services

The Swiss arm of banking giant BBVA will begin providing Bitcoin trading and custody services on June 21.

The financial institution decided to launch a newservice, noticing the desire of many investors to diversify their portfolios with digital assets, despite potential risks and market volatility. According to BBVA Switzerland's announcement, access to the new services will be open to all customers without exception.

Initially, the bank will work only with bitcoins, but in the future it plans to add support for othercryptocurrencies. Customers will be able to manage their digital assets in the same portfolio as traditional assets and easily convert fiat to BTC and vice versa.

With regard to the launch of similar services in other countries, BBVA said that everything will depend on the maturity, level of demand and regulation of these markets.

Recently, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and JPMorgan have joined the ranks of the financial giants working with cryptoassets.
