Major Korean bank will start offering cryptocurrency custody services

KB Kookmin Bank, one of the largest banks in South Korea, plans to offer digital asset custody services to its clients.

To launch a custodian service, the bank signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Cumberland Korea cryptocurrency platform and the Hashed blockchain venture fund.

According to partners, to develop a newtheir business models were driven by regulatory changes related to the regulation of distributed ledger technologies. Companies expect the collaboration to enable them to enter the digital transformation era.

In contrastfrom its competitors, KB Kookmin Bank will offer a custody product that will be aimed not only at institutional investors.
